Winter Wonderland.............AGAIN!!

Just after noon today I glanced out my window at work and it was snowing like crazy! And I mean CRAZY! Almost a white out. Yes, it had been in the forecast, but really, it seems like they've been forecasting snowstorms all winter where we only end up getting a dusting. So I wasn't really believing them.

I left work early and had to wait while two buses passed me by that were absolutely packed with people. About an hour and a half later (which was much better than I expected) I finally made it home and decided to start shoveling out the driveway, just to get a head start since it was still snowing. Anna, Steph and I all grabbed a shovel and got the job done in no time at all - there was probably four inches on the ground.

So I came in, had a little supper, and then headed off to the gym. And hour later I get home and the driveway is completely covered again, and it's still snowing and blowing like crazy! What a day! Just yesterday our driveway had no snow in it and the roads were all dry.

Is it just me or does it seem like this winter will never end? That's okay though because Anna and are I planning a little sunny beach vacation getaway, which is sounding better and better every day! I think maybe I'll head over to Orbitz.com now and check out ticket prices. Myrtle Beach, here we come!!

It's almost February and I still haven't posted any pictures from my Christmas vacation at home. But rather than posting a hundred pictures, I'll just link you to my facebook photo album. Sorry to those of you who are already my friend on facebook and have seen these already - it's nothing new. And I guess that would just leave Jill. (time to get a facebook account already!)

I do have to say I got some great gifts this year. My family is awesome!! My first big surprise (well, I kinda guessed it) was a new hunting rifle. I guess the boys are sick of me begging to use their guns for deer season. Here she is in all her glory, my new Savage .243!!!

Another gift that I'm super excited about is this:

A sewing machine!!! And, yes, it's still in the box. A couple months before Christmas I just thought, "ya know, I'm pushing 30, it's high time I learn to sew." So I asked for a sewing machine for Christmas. I think some people thought it was a joke. My brother Jordan is the one who gave it to me, laughing all the way! But the joke's on him. I'm signing up for Sewing 101 at Joann's and will be sewing him everything I can think of. Aprons, sweatpants.......well, that's all I can think of for now. And who knows, maybe I'll get so good, I'll run Naphtali right out of business! Ya right!

My Mom Made Me Do It

I've had good intentions. Really. I just got back on Sunday from being home for two whole weeks. And then I had to download all my pictures from my camera to the computer. And then edit them. Plus go to work. And the gym. And the bank. And the mall. And watch my Monday night TV. Then go to work again. And Target. And bible study. And eat and sleep.

And then my mom gets all up in my business about not posting something new on my blog. Like I just have all day to sit around and think about blogging.

So here it is, mother dearest, a new blog post. And a picture of Jace. Just like you asked. And if you could see me, I'm smiling while obeying!

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Traditions

One of my favorite things about being home for Christmas is the annual alumni hockey game. It's so fun to see all the "old" guys back in their uniforms and having fun on the rink. Here's a few shots after the game tonight.

I kid, I kid!

You caught me. The house pictured in the previous post isn't really ours! That's the sight we see through our back window. We call her "Betty Lou Who". (And no, Jill, it's not the "girlie" neighbors) The decorations are crazy on that house - the picture doesn't do it justice at all (I snuck out there in the dark last night and had to hurry so no one saw me). Every year it seems there's a little something more than the year before. A couple years ago I was taking a walk through the neighborhood at night and literally from about a block away could hear the hum of electricity.

Anyways.......I did do some decorating myself so I will share those pictures with you, although it's not nearly as impressive as our neighbors!

Christmas Lights!

I know it's been quite a while since I've posted anything new, but I've actually been quite busy getting ready for the Christmas season. I've finally finished all my decorating for the year and thought I'd show off the final product.

Now I'm off to bake cookies for our Christmas program at church tomorrow night all while listening to my new Elvis Christmas CD (and of course the hockey game will be on in the background - Go Gophers)! I LOVE this time of year :)

Oops...I did it again....

...I messed with your heart. Okay, that's enough Britney Spears for one day. But just wanted you to know, in case you're blind, that I changed my background AGAIN! Don't get too used to it though because Christmas is coming up fast, and I know I'll be changing it soon. So enjoy it while it's up. And Happy Thanksgiving!!
